Here at Mutual, we nurture all of our beer brands from hop to pint.

Mutual’s beer portfolio focuses on high-quality and unique offerings from craft and quality imports to non-alcoholic beer. We partner with both growing and established brands to increase their presence in the state of NC.

Michael Hayek

Statewide Beer Division Manager

Michael Hayek joined Mutual in 2013. After spending over a decade in operations management in the restaurant industry, and developing a strong passion for beer, Michael joined Mutual as Beer Manager for Raleigh and Eastern NC.

In 2015, Michael moved into the role of Statewide Beer Division Manager. He is responsible for developing new partnerships, marketing plans, brand management, and strategic planning. Michael’s hometown is Cedar Rapids, IA.

Michael Hayek joined Mutual in 2013. After spending over a decade in operations management in the restaurant industry, and developing a strong passion for beer, Michael joined Mutual as Beer Manager for Raleigh and Eastern NC.

Local Partnerships

We like to create unique opportunities for our team members to learn more about every step of the brewing process. By brewing beer with local breweries or attending major industry events, such as the Great American Beer Festival, our sales team broadens its knowledge base.

These opportunities contribute to a comprehensive knowledge of all things beer related and, specifically, knowing the beers we carry in our portfolio well enough to confidently recommend what is best for each customer’s menu.

The Mutual team has the skill set to tell the story as well as a shared enthusiasm for the industry. We believe the more our team understands the unique nuances of each of the breweries, the more we can partner with them and confidently place their products. We are committed to the beer business.

By growing our portfolio the right way, being dedicated to ongoing education, and bringing exciting brands to the market, we strive to be the distributor of choice for all beer-related decisions in North Carolina.
